Our Mission at Create Space

Create Space was started by Katie and Al Cooley in October 2016 as a way to connect with and give back to our community.
At Create Space you can make and take your own custom wood projects in a friendly and fun environment. Choose from a variety of class types where you will stain, assemble and paint your project. We provide the all the materials and you choose the stain, colors and the design. Some projects even allow you to customize them further with your name, date or a place.
Have fun and socialize with others. No experience is necessary as you will be guided by skilled instructors. You are guaranteed to leave feeling accomplished with a professional looking piece of decor to show off when you’re done! Great to keep as your own or give away as a gift.
Don’t wait to check out a Create Space class to build and decorate your own wooden home decor. At our DIY studio, we help you create your own custom masterpiece!
How We Give Back
We are committed to giving back to those in need. We look for organizations that use donations efficiently to make a significant impact globally or locally. Some of the organization we support are listed below.
Helping to feed those in need locally: The White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf serves neighbors who reside or are enrolled in the White Bear Area school district and are experiencing an emergency or financial difficulty that limit their ability to purchase food for themselves and their family. During a monthly shopping visit neighbors have access to their choice of milk, eggs, meat, pasta, rice, fresh and frozen produce and a variety of other dry goods. In addition to monthly shopping, neighbors may participate in Bonus Fridays, a weekly produce pick-up program and KID Pack, a weekend bag of food for students. Helping to feed those in need around the world: Feed My Starving Children is a twin-cities based Christian non-profit committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and we ship these meals to distribution partners around the world. Helping to break the cycle of addiction: Mn Adult & Teen Challenge has been restoring hope to people struggling with drug and alcohol addiction for almost 30 years. In addition to our effective and affordable shorter-term residential and outpatient programs and our distinctive long-term faith-based recovery program, we have extensive prevention and transitional/after care services.
